CRISIL Ratings on Thursday placed the long-term bank facilities and debt instruments of Vedanta Limited under 'rating watch with negative implications', the agency said in a press statement. CRISIL said the ratings may also be downgraded if Vedanta is not able to bring down its end-of-year financial leverage to below 2.7 times through asset monetisation, which is to be completed by December this year.

Having seen a rapid growth in demand for frontline workers in FY22 with the economy opening up, the growth seems to have muted in FY23 due to macroeconomic challenges. According to BetterPlace's Frontline Index Report, total demand for frontline jobs decreased by 17.5 per cent. In FY23, 6.6 million frontline jobs were created in India as compared to 8 million in FY22.

Infosys rolls out 80% average variable payout for Q1

Bengaluru-based Infosys has announced that 80 per cent of the variable pay will be distributed to eligible employees for the quarter ending June 30, according to media reports. This amount will be included with the August month's salary. In contrast, Infosys had paid out 60 per cent of the variable pay in the fourth quarter of financial year FY23.

A newly opened building in the diamond hub of Surat in Gujarat has surpassed the Pentagon as the world's largest office building, according to a report in CNN. Surat Diamond Bourse, billed as a "one-stop destination" for over 65,000 diamond professionals, including cutters, polishers and traders, will welcome its first occupants in November, the report said. It features a succession of nine rectangular structures spilling out from - and interconnected via - a central "spine", and the sprawling 15-storey complex has been built across more than 35 acres.
